The Game

Game Introduction: A video introduction is played, and your first task is finding your way into the Tomb!

Operator Intro: Exciting - takes you into the story

Theme: Adventure

Narrative: Be an Adventurer

Main room first glance: Wow!

Upon entry to the Tomb.. you are blown away by a beautiful set design worthy of being in a theme park or movie set. In the North East US, there is no other comparable experience. It is overwhelming and beautiful to experience.

Flow: Excellent flow - flawless and coherent

The flow is directed by the game and players in front of you - some puzzles will be longer in order to allow for the group ahead of you to finish their experience. Each game 'room' is treated as a separate mission - there is no going 'back' once you move forward.

Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)

The tomb requires players to be fast visual thinkers and able to hear note variations. Each puzzle is designed to keep 4 players fully engaged throughout the entire experience. There are two puzzle elements that require a tall(ish) player.

Game Strengths:

Amazing set design - beautiful game flow - accessible to most players - affordable - cathartic ending

Game Weaknesses:

Towards the end of the mission, the puzzles become much easier than in prior rooms, with less 'meat' and more theatrics.

Hints & Clues, Debrief

Method: Other

Quality: OK

Closure & Debrief: Excellent (Catharsis)

Final Thoughts:

5 Wits is the Escape Room Industry's answer to where ER's should be heading. With the ability for up to 36 players per hour per game, 5 Wits keeps the experience affordable, accessible, and enjoyable, while setting the standard of expectation for future games very high. For a small fee (~$5) you can have a private experience instead of a public game. If you are travelling to the North East US, make sure to visit a 5 Wits location. Please note: some locations have the same games, check their website!
