Venue / Lobby Info:
Entrance is on the corner. Kind of feels like the building used to be a doctor's office of some sort, but ESCapades LA did a great job creating a comfortable lobby. Their lockers even have phone chargers in them! Waters are available upon request.
Public Restrooms: Yes
Notes for People with Disabilities:
There is no crawling, jumping, or climbing in this adventure, with strategically placed seating found throughout.
Game Introduction: Something happened, and pieces of nostalgia have ended up in the wrong decades! It's up to our team to fix it!
Operator Intro: Interesting
Theme: Specific Place and Time (1900-2000)and time (1900-2000)
Narrative: Help Create Something (such as a cure, a potion, etc.)
Main room first glance: Looks Good
Our game begins in a medium sized room that could easily be someone's living room in the late 1970s. While there isn't a 'WOW' factor to the appearance, it's suitable for the game we are about to play.
Flow: Very Good and coherent flow
As we progress through the decades, there is a pretty clear barrier of when one area is complete and the next is in play. The game speed and flow depends heavily on your team's ability to scavenge.
Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)
There wasn't much in the way of puzzling for this adventure. With a few mini games/puzzles throughout, the game play revolved heavily on searching.
Appeals to multiple generations - interesting theme
Not a lot of puzzles - Underwhelming Set Design
Hints & Clues, Debrief
Closure & Debrief: OK
Escapades LA has designed a search heavy, beginner friendly experience.Four years ago, Disrupted Decades would have been on par with most of the good escape rooms found throughout the US. Within the LA market, it is underwhelming and needs set design improvement, especially when held up to the standard Doggy Dog World set within the same location. Who should play? 80s nerds, multi-generational groups, and enthusiasts that wish to relive the past.
Did You Escape: Yes
