This room is designed to run with 4 people ideally. I wouldn't recommend any more or less players for this experience. Due to some of the horror elements in this room, I would not recommend this to kids under 16.

There is a large sitting area to the right side of the entrance for you to wait for your team to arrive. Items for sale (zombie themed, branded items) are available within the lobby.

The Game

Game Introduction: We are each led into separate chambers in the dark, where the GM explains briefly what we are to expect. This is super exciting, and gives each team player a differential initial experience and starting point.

Operator Intro: Exciting - takes you into the story

Theme: Horror

Narrative: Escape a Specific Unpleasant Place

Main room first glance: Wow!

The room I began in was different than the rest of the team. I was 'strapped' to a psychiatric chair, with various monitors around me so I could spy on my team (and perhaps help them?!) It was an exciting experience, and I cannot go into deeper details without giving this game away.

Flow: Excellent flow - flawless and coherent

One thing led to another, and the usage of several rooms assisted us in continuing further into the game. It was practically a seamless experience, and very enjoyable to navigate.

Puzzles: Good puzzles

I've never seen such a mismatch of puzzles before in my life. Some of the puzzles were 100% on theme (Game note: you may get wet while playing), while others made no sense (periodic table of elements? math with decimal places?! what kind of serial killer is this?!). One puzzle got 'stuck' and the GM came in within a minute to assist us in continuing. His prompt attention kept the game moving smoothly.

Game Strengths:

Wonderful, large set design - Unique starting sequence - Horror game that didn't depend on jump scares

Game Weaknesses:

We didn't know when the game was 'over', nobody was at the end of the game to meet us - puzzles varied greatly in theme and difficulty

Hints & Clues, Debrief

Method: Other

Quality: Good (things made sense)

Closure & Debrief: OK

Final Thoughts:

With a large playing field and unique starting sequence, this game is the perfect way to spend an afternoon if you have (exactly) a group of 4 players. It is one of the better thought out horror rooms in the North East that doesn't depend on jump scares. Saw fans will truly appreciate this room. The hint system has been upgraded from earlier games.

Did You Escape: Yes
