Ease Of Booking :
Super accommodating to playing 4 games back to back! Easy to book.
Lobby : The lobby was the most beautiful lobby we have ever spent time in. Sofas and seating galore, it was a very inviting place to be. There were games to keep us entertained if we wanted to play (it kept the men of our group thoroughly engaged).
Hospitality : There are lockers to place personal belongings upon arrival. The host was personable, pleasant, and engaging. He made our time spent at Lock & Clue pleasant in between games, and kept the groups running through on time. He multi tasked like a pro!
Time Keeping : We arrived late - they took 15 minutes off of our booking, which was totally OK and expected.
Briefing Details : We were led into a hallway to wait for a security guard to escort us to the room. The game started before we even entered the game due to the excellent actor/GM we had the pleasure of working with! We were told we had to steal a box/suitcase and get out ASAP.
Operator Intro : Exciting - takes you into the story
The actor truly made this game experience exceptional, and I look forward to playing other games at this location as they open.
The Game :
Well thought out, difficult puzzles that were not confusing or hard 'just to be hard'. Several puzzles stayed on theme.
The Venue :
Beautiful venue with an amazing staff with solid games to keep enthusiasts and newbies entertained.
Main Room - First Glance :
Once we were inside the game, it looked like we were in a typical office with the lights out (We were given flashlights). There were a few office cubicles, some doors, and didn't look very exciting. (Please note: initial main rooms can be deceiving).
Very Good and coherent flow
There were a few choppy moments within the game where we knew what to do, but for some reason we couldn't figure out EXACTLY what to do. This escape room takes precision!! We ended up using 2 clues to help us figure out some of these 'precise' moments. I liked that the flow was obvious enough not to have to use clues to figure out 'what's next'.
Some of them were great (matched promised level)
Not everything is exactly what it appears to be, and some aspects of the room had hidden elements that were really well thought out. They branched out beyond the typical lock and key / combo locks at times, which was pleasant. This is the first escape room that used 'older' safes that actually worked as they were supposed to!!!
Hints & Clues : Hints via walkie talkie
Policy: Some Rules
Hints & Clues Quality: We were supposed to wait for clues to be given to us, but we ended up asking at one point when we got stuck.
Closure & Debrief :
We escaped in 44 minutes as a group of 4 enthusiasts. This room is ideal for a group of 4-6 people - I wouldn't recommend more than 6. This room is also kid-friendly themed, and I could see teenagers having fun here. This was our first game of the 4 that day, and set a very positive mood for the other games to come.
Venue Description: Inside of a historical building. There is a green market, several artisan shops. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out which building and where to go once inside. Give yourself some extra time to explore!
Public Transportation : Some
There is a bus stop directly out front of the building, but I am not familiar with the area.
Parking : Street parking – lots of it
We parked one block away on a side street.
