Overview Notes:

This is a rather difficult, expansive experience - I would recommend playing a few easier rooms prior to booking Time Chasers. While kid friendly, I would recommend this room as 12+.

The Venue

Upon entry, you will walk upstairs and into a very large lobby with conference room off to the side. This was one of the largest lobbies I've seen in the area, making Trap't an ideal choice for corporate events or larger parties.

Notes for People with Disabilities:

From Trapt's website: The main entrance to the building is fully ADA compliant and has an elevator to take you to the 2nd floor. All of our rooms are accessible and there are accessible restrooms just outside of our entrance.

The Game   

Game Introduction: The president is ill, and we have one hour to find a cure!

Operator Intro: Exciting - takes you into the story

Narrative: Help Create Something (such as a cure, a potion, etc.)

Main room first glance: Wow!

With a large terminal in the middle of the room, clocks along one wall, and cubbies along another... No matter how I describe this first room, it will not fully encompass the grandeur felt. Imagine a modern, redesigned TARDIS interior that the Master helped create. Steampunk meets sci-fi, it's a beautiful treat.

Flow: Very Good and coherent flow

The game has a forced flow due to being able to only access some rooms at certain times throughout the experience. This is absolutely beautifully crafted, and the first time we've seen it where the player has control of this. It's elegant, tasteful, and helps build on the immersive elements. Some areas of the escape room experience we spent much, much more time in than others - one area was less than 5 minutes, but felt like we needed more time to explore and engage the space.

Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)

There is a vast array of difficulty in the puzzles here - some were simple, while others took us quite some time to decipher. Some were kid friendly, and others (felt) near impossible in difficulty to complete in the hour time limit. Our experienced group truly loved the mix, but this mix would be overwhelming to a lot of players.

Game Strengths:

Expansive, beautiful set design - Unique theme - Great puzzles - Fantastic Variety of difficulty - 50+ steps

Game Weaknesses:

Since we could only be in one or two areas at the same time, several members of our group never left one of the rooms (as they were working on the next component of the game). My experience was vastly different than theirs due to this. In some ways, it feels like we needed a 2nd time playing for them to experience the puzzles and rooms that they missed. We spent nearly 15 minutes after the game ended exploring the space, filling in these players on what they missed. It's not enough of a difference to warrant a replay, but it does mean that half of our group experienced a totally different hour than the other. - For the vast majority of teams, it feels like more than 60 minutes is needed to truly enjoy this experience. We finished in 61 minutes, and felt rushed the entire time. We know the point of an escape room is to 'escape' and that pressure should be there - but this space is large enough to explore, that I would recommend extending the game to a 75 minute experience for players to truly soak it in. - We had a lot of difficulty reading our clues on the game monitor, it was a horrible font and blurry for us

Final Thoughts:

There is a LOT to do in this Escape Room. If you live in the area (or are passing through), it is worth the trip to check out Time Chasers at Trap't. Between the unique use of space, interesting story line, and sheer amount of puzzles, it will make most enthusiasts giddy with delight.
