I would recommend this game as a wonderful middle ground for a mixed group of experienced / new players. There is enough going on to make an enthusiast happy, while being accessible to new players.
Venue / Lobby Info:
It is very difficult to find this 60Out location (a photo will be attached to this review), as there is no large signage visible from outside. The numbers are not visible on the front of the building - we had to call and ask for directions. Once we were at the correct building, we were in for such a surprise!!! The venue is in the basement of a building, with a full bar, shuffleboard table, lounge area with dozens of TVs, etc;. Our group was referring to this lounge as a 'perfect man cave' - we've never seen anything like it!!
Public Restrooms: Yes
Notes for People with Disabilities:
Call prior to booking. The room itself requires some crouching and being able to step over short barriers is needed.
Game Introduction: Our GM lets us know that the game was built within an old bank vault - complete with the door still visible! It was amazing and beautiful. We are on the Titanic and have an hour to get the ship working enough for us to escape on the emergency boats. Tied into the historical context, it was exciting and immersive!
Operator Intro: Exciting - takes you into the story
Theme: Specific Place and Time (1900-2000)and time (1900-2000)
Main room first glance: Wow!
The first room we are led into looks like a steam room or utility shaft - be prepared to be cozy with your team! The set fit the theme perfectly and was a great foreshadow to the game to come.
Flow: Very Good and coherent flow
Through the use of several chambers, 60Out keeps your team moving in the right direction at all times. It was mostly clear what we had to accomplish at each point within the game, and how to do it.
Puzzles: Good puzzles
Majority of the puzzles within this game were beginner friendly. No outside knowledge is required, several are physical tasks built on the theme of the game.
Beautiful set design - smooth game play - fantastic use of space
Anti-climatic ending to an exciting game
Hints & Clues, Debrief
