Game Introduction: Our game begins in an alleyway/park area, and our first task is to enter the jokers cafe!
Operator Intro: OK
Theme: Cartoon / Anime
Main room first glance: Nice & Neat!
It was really great to see the telephone booth reused from the Mousetrap game!! The set was very scenic and pretty, bringing us back to how we felt playing the older escape rooms Komnata has to offer.
Flow: Good Flow - one thing leads to another. Sometime not clear
We ran into some major technical difficulties when it came to the flow of this experience. #1 - We used an item prematurely, and had to make do with another item one of us had in our pockets #2 - When we asked for a hint, our GM provided a hint about 10 steps further along than we were, allowing us to skip an entire room's worth of puzzles and tasks. #3 - A puzzle wasn't reset properly, allowing us to theoretically skip a step. We reset it ourselves and did it anyway.
Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)
A lot of the puzzles stayed on theme, and there was a great blend happening between Komnata's more 'adventure' style rooms and their 'puzzley' rooms - we were truly enjoying this marriage!
Large playing field - unique puzzles - more 'puzzle heavy' than most Komnata rooms
GM not paying attention - (Post Game: We were told that the GM we had was in training, and another GM walked us through all the puzzles we had skipped. The GM comped our next game as an apology). If we didn't have another item to use makeshift within the game, a GM would have needed to enter the room to hand us another piece.
