When the boss is away, it’s up to you, the Rookie employee, to keep the place running. But the boss is a paranoid man, and when a VIP wants to pick up his merchandise in 60 minutes, you’d better remember all his tricky security methods or you’re out.

This is the escape room I would bring my aunts, uncles, and grandparents to when trying to explain what an escape room is. It is accessible to a wide variety of players, which I will further explain within the review. While definitely geared towards beginners, enthusiasts will appreciate the change of scenery presented within this game.
Venue / Lobby Info:
Located on the second floor, there is an elevator for those who wish to use it. The lobby reminds me of an indoor garden / patio - it is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful change of pace from the ordinary. It is bright and welcoming, inviting you into the space.
Public Restrooms: Yes
Notes for People with Disabilities:
Directly from Play It Out's Website - "Our building is compliant, and we welcome players with all abilities. Within the game, objects need to be manipulated by hand, clues need to be read and deciphered, and there may be some bending or reaching." There is a lot of space for maneuvering a wheelchair or stroller. If you have a player that needs to sit down or rest often, I would recommend the Loft room over the Pawn Shop experience.
Game Introduction: A VIP is coming, and we have 60 minutes!
Operator Intro: Interesting
Theme: Modern Era (2000+)
Main room first glance: Nice & Neat!
A large display case wraps around the right side and front of the shop, with an 'employees only' sign on the door on the left side. It is a bright an inviting space, with posters all over the walls.
Flow: Very Good and coherent flow
A little more linear in design than the Loft, but it helped us navigate the space. With the way the room flowed, we had a very good idea of 'how much game is left' as we progressed, which was pretty cool.
Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)
The puzzles mostly matched the theme of the room - what would you make a puzzle out of in a pawn shop?! While varying in difficulty, there is a puzzle that your golfing grandfather will truly appreciate.
Great use of the space - Beautiful room - Unique theme - Puzzles matched the theme
I would love to see additional puzzles added to this experience to keep a larger group entertained.
