This is a 'harder than average' escape room experience for the area - I would recommend attempting this game after you have a few rooms under your belt. Mostly linear in nature, the ideal team size is 3-4 players.
Venue / Lobby Info:
Padlocked is located in a strip mall, on the far end. When driving, it is easy to see from a car. Walking in, Padlocked's lobby is on the smaller side, with seating for about 6 people. If you are coming as a large group, I would recommend meeting at the pizzeria a few doors down, and coming in together as a group right before your game time. There's an office to the left of the main entrance, and seating is directly in front and along the right side. There is a 'lobby puzzle' while you wait - if you solve it, you will receive an very useful prize!
Public Restrooms: Yes
Notes for People with Disabilities:
Call prior to booking.
Game Introduction: Our plane has crashed, and we need to survive!
Operator Intro: OK
Narrative: Be an Adventurer
Main room first glance: OK
We begin the game in a converted office area with some decorations that reminded me of a tiki party night at a bar. A bunch of ropes are hanging on one wall, and severed heads line another.
Flow: Good Flow - one thing leads to another. Sometime not clear
Linear in nature, when you get stuck in this room, your team is STUCK. Make sure to bring your searchers to this game!
Puzzles: Some of them were great (matched promised level)
This room had a very large range of puzzles, ranging from typical to rare, easy to difficult. A few required leaps of logic (hints were needed to overcome..). There is a mix of high and low tech elements to this room, making it a great introductory room to pick for those players transitioning from older style experiences.
Fun theme - Clever elements
Leaps of logic were present that truly required outside help from the GM - Storyline elements were missing to smooth out flow - outdated, worn set
Hints & Clues, Debrief
Quality: Excellent (They have advanced the game, built-in escalation, no answer-disclosing)
Closure & Debrief: Very Good
